Lemon pound cake

This cake is not only easy to prepare but it is also delicious! If you like food with a citric taste this is the cake for you. It works for breakfast or for the afternoon with a cofee or some tea, it will lift you up!

  • 150 gr butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 cups sugar
  • Lemon juice of 1 lemon
  • Lemon zest of ½ lemon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F or 180 ºC. Sieve the flour, mix with the baking powder and the salt, set aside.
  2. In the medium speed of an electric mixer cream the butter with the sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs one at the time, beating well after each addition. Add the vanilla extract, the lemon juice and lemon zest, mix well. Add the dry ingredients using an spatula to mix.
  3. Put the batter in a previously greased and floured loaf pan, take to the oven for about 50 minutes or until a cake tester comes clean.
  4. To serve you can decorate with custard sugar or lemon glaze.

Torta de limón

Esta torta no sólo es fácil de preparar sino que también es deliciosa! Si les gusta la comida con un gusto cítrico, esta es la torta para ustedes. Funciona muy bien para el desayuno o la merienda con un café o una taza de té, les va a levantar el ánimo!

  • 150 gr manteca
  • 3 huevos
  • 2  tazas harina
  • 1 cta sal
  • 2 ctas polvo de hornear
  • 3/4 tazas azúcar
  • Juego de 1 limón
  • Ralladura de ½ limón
  • 1 cta extracto de vainilla
  1. Precalentar el horno a 350 grados F o 180 ºC. Tamizar la harina, mezclar con el polvo de hornear y la sal, dejar a un lado.
  2. En la velocidad media de la batidora eléctrica blanquear la manteca con el azúcar hasta que quede cremoso. Agregar los huevos de a uno mezclando bien luego de cada incorporación. Agregar la vainilla, el jugo y la ralladura de limón, mezclar bien. Agregar los ingredientes secos utilizando una espátula para mezclar.
  3. Colocar la mezcla en una budinera previamente enmantecada y enharinada, llevar al horno por aproximadamente 50 minutos o hasta que el tester de tortas salga limpio.
  4. Para servir decorar con azúcar impalpable o con glasé de limón.
